Yesterday

Where have you gone since yesterday,
And left us lonely here?
Today you seem so far away,
Who yesterday was near.
No Map of ours, that we may use,
Your journey can we trace.
We only know you've reached you Home,
And seen your Father's face.

* * * *

Remember me with smiles and laughter!
Because, that is the way I will
remember all of you.
If you can only remember with tears,
Then don't remember at all.

Before she passed, in July of 1988, Pat was a vibrant member of her community. She had close friends in the small town of West Branch. And she was very active in the lives of her two children, Carl and Jennifer, including: helping out in each of their scouting activities; being a home-room Mom in the local school system; and attending every sporting, theater and music event for her kids. She was also an artist in the kitchen, sharing her love with family and friends through all her recipes.

If Pat were still with us today, we believe she would have continued to be a pillar of strength in the lives of her two children and three grandchildren. She would be proud of us in our successes, and encouraging in our times of need. She would embrace our choices to be individuals. And she would love her three grandchildren to the ends of the earth.

Dick and Pat were married in June of 1969. When Pat passed, they had celebrated 19 years of happy marriage. After his retirement, Dick has continued to follow their dream to travel our country via RV.

Carl now lives and works in Seattle, Washington, and is the father of three beautiful children (ages 10, 12 and 14).

Jennifer has been living and working in Minneapolis, Minnesota for more than 15 years.
When I'm Gone

To Those I love and Those Who Love Me

While I am gone release me, let me go;
I have so many things to see and do.
You must not tie yourself to me with tears.
Be happy that we had so many beautiful years.
I gave to you my love. You can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown.
But now it's time I travel on alone.
So grieve for me a while if grieve you must
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only a while that we must part,
So bless the memories within your heart.
I won't be far away, for life goes on,
so if you need me, call and I will come,
Though you can't see or touch me, I'll be near.
And if you listen with you heart,
You'll hear all my love around you soft and clear,
and then when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile Mans Say
"Welcome Home"
